Join the nationally recognized test prep experts from Top Score Education for a comprehensive virtual group SAT class designed exclusively for FSYF members (and individuals eligible for FSYF membership). This class is ideal for all current sophomores and juniors. Seniors who have not taken the SAT or plan to retake the exam are also encouraged to join.
Structure of Class:
This virtual SAT prep course will consist of 15 90-minute weekly sessions on Saturdays from 9:00 to 10:30 AM EST. The class will begin on January 11, 2025, and run through April 26, 2025, preparing students for two official SAT attempts.
The class will be capped at 16 students, and early registration is recommended. Registration closes seven days before the start of the first class. This course costs $1,000 for FSYF members and $1,200 for non-members. However, it is only open to individuals eligible for FSYF membership. All materials, resources, and communication with Top Score are included in this cost.
Learning Objectives
-
Prepare students for two official SAT attempts on March 8, 2025, and May 3, 2025, through a comprehensive review of content, strategies, and mindsets necessary for success on the SAT.
-
Build community among FSYF students around the world. This group class is intentionally open exclusively to FSYF students. An explicit goal of this course is to foster connections between FSYF students worldwide.
Each family is responsible for registering their students for the official SAT attempts on March 8 and May 3. FSYF and Top Score Education are unable to do this for students. More information about how to register for the SAT is here: https://satsuite.collegeboard.org/sat/dates-deadlines.

About the Instructor
Ella Spalding, an SAT, ACT, and STEM tutor at Top Score Education, combines a deep love of learning with years of tutoring experience to help students reach their academic goals. A graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a pre-med concentration, Ella graduated Summa Cum Laude and brings her test prep expertise and dedication to every class. In addition to her work as a Top Score tutor, Ella is preparing for medical school, where she hopes to merge her passion for science with a healthcare career.
During her undergraduate years, Ella worked as a research assistant in a neuroscience lab, served as Treasurer of the Neuroscience Club, and was President of the Scientistas, a women in STEM organization. Her work on the DEB (Dynamic Eclipse Broadcast) initiative with NASA, helping to monitor and record the 2024 total eclipse, highlights her commitment to science and discovery.
Since beginning her professional tutoring career, Ella has developed a dynamic, student-centered approach, focusing on building rapport and trust. She believes in tailoring her explanations to each student’s needs, fostering confidence and a thorough understanding of the material. Known for her kindness and encouragement, Ella’s goal is to help students excel on their tests and see the “big picture” in their learning.
Outside the classroom, you will find Ella reading, painting, embroidering, and gardening. A proud big sister and the oldest of four, Ella cherishes family time and finds great joy in supporting her siblings. She’s also setting her sights on auditioning for Jeopardy! this year—a perfect challenge for this passionate, lifelong learner. Learn more about Ella and Top Score Education.
