Criminal drug networks are mass-producing fake pills and falsely marketing them as legitimate prescription pills to deceive the American public. These pills are widely available, often contain fentanyl, and can be deadly. Fake prescription pills are easily accessible and often sold on social media and e-commerce platforms, making them available to anyone with a smartphone, including minors. Engage with representatives of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as they provide an overview of this dangerous threat and provide resources got how you can talk to your kids about it and other drugs of concern.
Learning Objectives:
– Explain what fake pills are, the connection to fentanyl and why they are so dangerous
– Discuss how participants can discuss these issues with their children
– Identify free science-based prevention resources available to webinar participants
