FSYF invites repatriating middle school students to join us for a workshop designed to help empower them with tools for their re-entry process. We'll brainstorm strategies for adjusting to life in American middle schools and coping skills needed for a successful year. There will be a panel of students to share their personal experiences. While students are in their session, parents are invited to participate in a workshop moderated by FSYF Board member Kim DeBlauw. This session will focus on becoming familiar with American middle school life and local teen social culture. Parents will be exposed to the latest research and literature regarding reverse culture shock and have an opportunity to speak with a panel of parents and educators about re-entry issues.
