FSYF invites parents of repatriating high school students to join us for a workshop designed to help them become familiar with American high school life and local teen social culture.  Parents will be exposed to the latest research and literature regarding reverse culture shock and have an opportunity to speak with a panel of parents and educators about re-entry issues.

Moderator:
Kim DeBlauw, FSO and FSYF Board Member

Description:
The goal of this program is to expose parents to the latest research and literature addressing topics related to Third Culture Kids (TCKs) and the reverse culture shock they will experience to varying degrees as they transition into high school.  Parents will have an opportunity to discuss strategies to support their teen(s), network with other Foreign Service parents, and  receive support from parents and educational professionals.  A light dinner will be served.  This program is intended only for parents whose teens are enrolled in the High School Re-entry Program.
