SAT Prep Workshop for FSYF 10th-12th Graders

Join the nationally recognized test prep experts from Top Score Education for the second offering of their free SAT student workshop, designed exclusively for FSYF members. Thais Menendez and Santi Orozco from Top Score Education will give students an overview of the SAT and review best practices for preparing for this exam. All students will leave the workshop with concrete resources and a clear plan for self-study before the summer and fall SATs. In addition to providing students with self-study resources, Thais and Santi will preview the group SAT class they will lead for FSYF students from June through October and be available to answer questions about this for families and students. This workshop is ideal for all current sophomores and juniors. Seniors who have not taken the SAT or plan to retake the exam would also benefit from joining. Equip FSYF students with targeted resources and a clear plan for self-study before the summer and fall 2024 SATs. About the Presenters Santi Orozco: As a refugee and first-generation college graduate, Santi is acutely aware of the power of education and how a student’s identity impacts their learning. Santi brings a depth of experience as a Top Score SAT and ACT tutor. A proud Duke graduate, Santi is an empathetic and skilled tutor who consistently creates an environment where his students reach their full potential. Teaching has been a constant in Santi's professional life, serving as a passion, a service, and a profession. He worked in several academic settings before joining Top Score, including serving as a tutor at BoldABC, an academic specialist at Durham Academy Summer Institutes, a Project Manager at KIPP Public Schools, and Head Tutor at Durham Public Schools.
